September is celebrated as Hawaiian History Month and just last week marked Queen Lili‘uokalani’s 183rd birthday. To honor Hawaii’s last reigning monarch, the state archives launched the digital collection of the Queen's personal papers. We talked to State Archivist Adam Jansen about the unprecedented access now available to all. It has just digitized 24,000 documents as part of the Queen Lili‘uokalani collection. It launched the online access for all to use and share on Sept. 2, the Queen’s birthday.
