Coco Palms Resort

Demolition will soon begin on a Kauaʻi resort once favored by Elvis Presley and other Hollywood royalty before it was heavily damaged by Hurricane Iniki three decades ago. The Coco Palms Resort will be torn down for a new 350-room hotel. Construction is expected to take about three years.

In-flux ownership and lack of capital have hindered building permits over at the Coco Palms Resort on Kauaʻi, which has been in ruins since 1992. But new ownership at the Wailua property is trying to get ahead. HPR's Sabrina Bodon reports.
