You know those credit card offers that flash on your screen or show up in your mailbox? They seem pretty good at first glance but how do you know if that card or perhaps even the ones you already carry is offering you the best deal? In a changing financial landscape, personal finance websites WalletHub and CardHub took a look at a long list of credit cards and banking industry products. Both reports are out this week and WalletHub spokesperson Jill Gonzalez joined the show with some the highlights that could make a difference in your life.

It’s unlikely that cartoonist Charles Addams could have imagined that the macabre characters he created for his New Yorker cartoons would worm their way into American popular culture as much as they have, but there’s something about them – call it a mixture of the wholesome and the forbidden.   The plot of the Addams Family musical sets up young Wednesday and her family for a collision with normalcy  and Michael Pulliam is the director of the Maui OnStage production that opens this weekend.

Mauna Kea Protestors

The chasm between the opposition to the Thirty Meter Telescope and those trying to finish construction moved deeper over the last week. Tomorrow, the Board of Land and Natural Resources has on its agenda a proposed rule to limit access to the summit. It was prompted by camping protesters and boulders placed in the road to Mauna Kea, among other issues. UH Professor Jon Osorio has long opposed the TMT and he joined the show via phone to share his thoughts on the latest developments.

One of the challenges of children’s theater is giving everyone a chance to shine.   Directors of children’s theater productions often find themselves surrounded by more raw talent than they can fit onto a stage. The show “Disney’s Alice In Wonderland” is designed to meet that challenge with an episodic structure that gives several of its familiar characters a turn in the spotlight.   Rebecca Hanson is directing the upcoming Hawaii Children’s Theater production and she joined the show to tell us more about.

  • Outro Music: Alice in Wonderland by Prague Festical Orchestra
