All About Jimi: Kathy Etchingham

Kathy Etchingham

Jimi Hendrix has been gone for 45 years now, and remains - for guitarists around the world – one of the dominant influences on his instrument.  His impact on the world of music was explosive, and presents a dramatic contrast to his private persona… he’s often described as quiet, self-effacing, and a bit shy, transforming completely when he took the stage.  Kathy Etchingham knew him well in the London years when his career took off. She’s in town to share her private memories of an enigmatic genius at Hawaii Pacific University. The event is tomorrow evening at 5:30pm in the Warmer Auditorium on Hawai‘i Pacific University’s Downtown campus.

  • Intro Music:  Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix
  • Outro Music:  The Wind Cries Mary-Live at Monterey by Jimi Hendrix
