Domestic Violence Action Center: Nanci Kreidman
Over the past quarter century, the organization that in recent years has been known as the Domestic Violence Action Center or DVAC for short, has worked to make the case that violence in the home is everyone's problem. It hasn't always been easy to gather data and funding. How to change attitudes, especially of police who respond and report domestic violence, got a boost lately following the police officer caught on camera supposedly hitting his girlfriend... and nationally within the world of entertainment and football, domestic violence continues to fuel discussions of what to do about it. Nanci Kreidman is the CEO of the Domestic Violence Action Center and joined the show via phone to comment.

Health Risks of Pesticide Exposure: Sen. Josh Green
Often in our conversations about pesticide use in Hawaii, we hear these questions… what are the pesticides in use, where are they being used, and how do they afftect human health, especially when exposed to children? This morning, Senator Josh Green opens up that conversation yet again in a briefing at the State Capitol. It will feature three mainland pesticide experts and researchers. In advance of that meeting and the submission of his bill aimed at requiring more disclosure of pesticide use and the creation of buffer zones, Senator Josh Green joined the show to share his thoughts on the matter.
