Muscular Dystrophy: Adrianna O’Donnell
For patients coping with neuromuscular disease, daily living often includes several types of therapy. That usually means going to different locations and separate trips. But soon, a new clinic at Queens Hospital will offer physical, occupational and speech therapy all under one roof. That makes it a first for Hawaii. Adrianna O’Donnell is the Executive Director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and she joined the show to tell us more.

Chamber music has long since moved beyond the traditional instrumentation we associate with it – and has taken on new life as a result. As evidence, we offer an upcoming Honolulu Chamber Music series concert: Kammeraku, which merges traditional Western instrumentation with the sounds of the shakuhachi, the shamisen, and the koto. It also will feature new compositions, including a world premiere from the University of Hawaii’s Takuma Itoh.

Autism/CDC Report: Dr. Ryan Lee
Two years ago, the autism community was rocked by a CDC report pegging the incidence at one in 88 children. Now the CDC says that autism statistic is about 30 percent 1 in 68 children. The alarming average national rate can vary widely from state to state. Autism Society Board member and Head of Pediatric Neurology at Shriner's Hospital, Dr. Ryan Lee, joined the show to look at Hawaii’s part in this story.
