Helping Hand - January 17, 2020 complete interview with After School All Stars Hawaii

This week on Helping Hand, After-School All-Stars Hawaii return. HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence speaks with Paula Fitzell, President and CEO, and Program Manager Maria Glidden.

After-School All-Stars Hawaii provides comprehensive after-school programs that keep children safe and help them succeed in school and in life. We first learned about them when the Special Olympics Hawaii were our guests, and they shared how the kind folks at After-School All-Stars Hawaii offer really significant companionship and educational support. It’s a program that works with disadvantaged youth and promotes inclusion and support by students to their classmates with disabilities and special needs.

Helping Hand is a weekly feature on HPR1 stations each week and then archived online here. On Friday afternoons, Helping Hand puts the spotlight on an organization, topic or event that offers assistance to people with disabilities and people and animals in need.
