Last month, 200 National Guard troops were deployed to Washington, D.C. for President Biden's inauguration ceremony. Several Hawaii National Guard soldiers were among the group. Seven of them later tested positive for COVID-19. They have since recovered and were released from quarantine this past weekend. We talked to Colonel Stanley Garcia about why they weren't vaccinated prior to deployment and how our local National Guard will involved in vaccinations.

That's why Hawaii Cancer Center and the Hawaii Cancer Consortium joined a coalition of leading oncology experts - to remind the public that cancer screening and treatment should resume during the ongoing pandemic. You may not know that opera in Hawaii dates back to the 1850s when Queen Emma sang in the chorus of a Verdi production and King Kamehameha IV served as stage manager. The Hawaii Opera Theatre kicked off an island inspired digital production over Valentine's Day weekend. It's a Mozart one act comic opera entitled, "Bastien and Bastienne." We talked with HOT's General Director Andrew Morgan, who also makes his directorial debut.
