No Tsunami Threat for Hawaii Following Quake Off Alaska

Update: The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has cancelled the tsunami watch for Hawaii following 7.9 magnitude earthquake off Alaska.

A Tsunami Watch for Hawaii was issued late Monday evening by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center following an 7.9 magnitude earthquake off Alaska.  

A Tsunami Watch means tsunami waves are possible, but not imminent. If a tsunami is likely to hit the islands, a Tsunami Warning will be issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

Nick Yee’s passion for music developed at an early age, as he collected jazz and rock records pulled from dusty locations while growing up in both Southern California and Honolulu. In college he started DJing around Honolulu, playing Jazz and Bossa Nova sets at various lounges and clubs under the name dj mr.nick.
