HECO provides $2M in electric bill pandemic relief

Hawaiʻi Public Radio

Hawaiian Electric is crediting $2 million to customers who struggled to pay for electricity during the pandemic.

The Kokua Fund Bill Credit Program will give a $90, one-time credit to more than 20,000 past-due accounts by the end of the month. The credit will be automatically added to the customer’s account.

Eligible customers are at least 30 days late on their bills and owe at least $200.

Accounts that meet the criteria will see a line item labeled “Kokua Fund Credit” on statements that arrive in February.

More information can be found online at hawaiianelectric.com/kokuafund.
