New online map tool helps public identify hazards across the state

The Hawai‘i Emergency Management Agency has just launched a new online tool showing the hazards and threats currently facing the islands.

That includes power outages, hurricane and wind data, flood risk, wildfires, volcanic activity and more.

HI-EMA says the tool can be especially useful during the wet season. As storms and rainfall increase, so does flooding. The interactive map tool will provide up-to-date information about incoming storm systems and potential dangers.

The detailed mapping system is regularly updated by agencies such as the U.S. Geological Survey, NASA, Hawaiian Electric Company and other partners.
