401kcalculator.org

If you have been procrastinating on doing your taxes, here's a friendly reminder that they are due pretty soon. The deadline to file your federal income tax return is next Monday, April 15th. But the state deadline to file is a week later, on April 22nd.

The state Department of Taxation says residents will need to file their tax return with Form N-11, while non-residents will have to use Form N-15. And if you did business within the state, you'll also need to file Form G-49.

If you are unable to file your individual income tax return by the April 22 deadline, you are granted an automatic six-month extension to file. But if you're due a refund, you don't need to request an extension. Just file your return by Oct. 2o, 2019.

The department is encouraging taxpayers to electronically file (e-file) their tax returns because it can speed up the processing time and reduce delays. And if you're expecting a refund, You can e-file your tax returns for free by using the department's online tax filing system.

State tax forms and instructions are available to view, download and print onlinehere.
