This week on Helping Hand it’s the Hawaii Association of the Blind returning, the state affiliate of the American Council of the Blind, made up of members of the community who are blind, have vision disabilities and or are loved ones of or advocates for the blind. They advocate for and provide service to the blind on a number of levels, and there are many ways to support them. Their HAB 2020 Annual Convention is Saturday March 7th, Pagoda Hotel, with a Meet and Greet Auction Night, Friday March 6th. HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence welcomes Board Member, Co-Chairperson of Publicity and writer of the HAB’s newsletter Natalie Barrett.
On Fridays, Helping Hand puts the spotlight on an organization, topic or event that offers assistance to people with disabilities and people and animals among the most vulnerable, and then is archived online here.
