Helping Hand - July 12, 2019 complete interview with American Cancer Society

This week on Helping Hand, join HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence as he welcomes back the American Cancer Society in Hawaii to hearing about their upcoming Relays for Life taking place across the state, starting July 20th in Wailuku, Hilo and Honolulu, August 10th in Kapaa, and August 17th in Kona. On the front lines of trying to fight one of the worst diseases, they offer a lot of services, and this is one way they raise funds to serve vulnerable people across the state; we hear many ways to support them as we welcome Cathy Alsup, Executive Director of the American Cancer Society in Hawaii.

Helping Hand is a weekly feature on HPR. Friday afternoons on All Things Considered, and then archived here online, we try to put the spotlight on an organization, event or topic that offers assistance to people with disabilities and people and animals who are among the most vulnerable.
