This week on Helping Hand it’s IHS, the Institute For Human Services, as we continue our series of guests digging into the massive homeless crisis in the Aloha State, the worst per capita in the United States, according to year after year measurements. Kimo Carvalho, spokesperson for IHS, speaks with HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence about the crisis, their services and the many ways the community can support what is the largest homeless service provider in Hawaii.
Helping Hand is a weekly feature on HPR. Each Friday afternoon, Helping Hand puts the spotlight on an organization topic or event that offers assistance to people with disabilities and people and animals among the most vulnerable. It airs during the PM Drive version of All Things Considered and then all the Helping Hand segments are archived online here.
