This week on Helping Hand it’s PACT: Parents and Children Together Hawaii Family Service Agency. HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence speaks with Dr. Marie Vorsino, VP of Intervention Programs and Dawn Kurisu, VP of Strategy and Innovation. Founded in 1968, their website notes PACT helps families identify, address and successfully resolve challenges through its 17 statewide program in the areas of early childhood education, domestic violence prevention and treatment, child abuse and neglect prevention and treatment, positive youth development, community and economic development, and mental health support.
Helping Hand airs Fridays on HPR1 stations during our afternoon drive broadcast of All Things Considered, and then all the segments are archived online here. Each week, Helping Hand puts the spotlight on an organization, topic or event that supports people with disabilities and others among the most vulnerable.
