On Helping Hand this week, the Hawaii Parkinson Association return ahead of their walk Sunday Sept. 16 at Magic Island in Ala Moana Beach Park in Honolulu. HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence welcomes Jerry Boster, HPA President and Lindsey Sutton, HPA Secretary and Head of their Exercise Committee. We’ll hear about the disease, the event, their need for trial and study volunteers and drug research, their support groups and the ways people can contribute to these, and some of the valuable therapeutic physical activities they suggest.
Helping Hand is a weekly feature on HPR1 stations and then all the segments are archived online here. Each Friday afternoon, Helping Hand puts the spotlight on an organization or event in the community that offers assistance to people with disabilities and others who are the most vulnerable in the community.
