This week Helping Hand welcomes back the Aloha United Way. HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence speaks with Chief Operating Officer Norm Baker about their support of a number of other critical nonprofits aiding the homeless, elderly, people with disabilities and other vulnerable segments of society. Many of their partners are familiar to Helping Hand listeners: Family Promise, Access Surf, Aloha Harvest, Waik?k? Health, Special Olympics and Ronald McDonald House to name just a few.
Helping Hand is a weekly feature on HPR. Each Friday afternoon, Helping Hand puts the spotlight on an organization, topic or event that offers assistance to people with disabilities and others among the most vulnerable as part of the afternoon drive broadcast of All Things Considered on HPR1 stations statewide. Helping Hand is archived online here.
