Helping Hand - January 12, 2018 complete interview with Leilani Farm Sanctuary

This week on Helping Hand it’s Leilani Farm Sanctuary. HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence welcomes Founder and President Laurelee Blanchard. The Valley Isle all-volunteer nonprofit provides shelter and care to nearly three hundred rescued, abused, destined for slaughter or orphaned animals, and educates the community on the humane treatment of animals, including educational programs for school groups and special needs visitors, and tours to the general public. They offer a number of volunteer and sponsorship opportunities to support the animals and visitors with disabilities.

Helping Hand is a weekly feature airing statewide on HPR1 stations each Friday as part of our afternoon drive broadcast of All Things Considered, and then appearing online here, where all of our Helping Hand segments and resources are archived online. Every week, Helping Hand puts the spotlight on an organization, topic or event that offers assistance to people with disabilities and those among the most vulnerable.
