This week Helping Hand welcomes Therapeutic Horsemanship of Hawaii. According to their website, they specialize in therapeutic riding instruction for special needs individuals, while providing instruction to individuals of any ability, and also offering a program with miniature horses that visit individuals who cannot come to their location due to physical or financial reasons. A benefit fundraising event is December 16th 4 to 8 p.m. at the Polo Field Clubhouse in Waim?nalo. HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence speaks with Executive Director of Therapeutic Horsemanship of Hawaii, Dana Vellen.
Helping Hand is a weekly feature airing Fridays on HPR1 stations as part of our afternoon drive broadcast of All Things Considered, and then archived online here. Helping Hand puts the spotlight on an organization, topic or event that offers assistance to the disabled and others among the most vulnerable.
