This week on Helping Hand we’re welcoming back the Hawai‘i Parkinson Association. There are a lot of ways to offer them support, including a benefit event this Sunday at Hawai‘i Polo on the North Shore in the Honolulu area, or by participating in the Hawaii Parkinson Walk November 4th at Magic Island in Ala Moana Beach Park. HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence welcomes President Emeritus Kevin Lockette and the new President of the Hawaii Parkinson Association, Jerry Boster.
Helping Hand is a weekly feature on HPR1 stations and archived online here. Each Friday afternoon during the PM Drive broadcast of NPR’s All Things Considered, Helping Hand puts the spotlight on an organization or event in the community that offers assistance to the disabled and others who are the most vulnerable.
