This week Aloha Harvest return to Helping Hand to discuss the innovative way this nonprofit rescues an average of three-tons of food each day, then donates it to 170+ food pantries, shelters and other organizations feeding the needy in the Aloha State. There are lots of ways to help them, including some supported by local musician and philanthropist Jack Johnson. HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence speaks with Aloha Harvest Executive Director K?ulei Williams.
Helping Hand is a weekly feature on HPR1 stations airing each Friday afternoon as part of our afternoon drive version of All Things Considered, and then appearing online here. Helping Hand puts the spotlight on an organization, topic or event that offers assistance to the disabled and others in need.
