Honolulu City Council Planning to Re-start Affordable Housing Leasehold Sale

The Honolulu City Council Budget Committee passed a bill today that would re-start the bidding process for the leasehold sale of the city’s affordable housing properties. That, following the failure of the highest bidder to meet financing deadlines by the end of last year. HPR’s Wayne Yoshioka reports.

Wayne Yoshioka is an award-winning journalist who has worked in television, print and radio in Hawaiʻi. He also has been on both sides of politics as a state departmental appointee and political/government reporter.
