Photovoltaic Tax Credit Rules Discussed at Public Hearing

The State Department of Taxation conducted a public hearing on solar photovoltaic tax credits today and is weighing the possibility of making a temporary rule permanent by the end of the year. As HPR’s Wayne Yoshioka reports, solar PV industry leaders say the department is contributing to market uncertainty and hampering the state’s goal of achieving greater energy independence.

Wayne Yoshioka is an award-winning journalist who has worked in television, print and radio in Hawaiʻi. He also has been on both sides of politics as a state departmental appointee and political/government reporter.
