MOKUHANGA: Traditional Japanese Woodblock Printmaking Class (5-week class)
When: May 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31 (Saturdays in May) from 11am - 2pm
Learn Mokuhanga with Sensei Glenn Yamanoha at the Hawaii Japanese Center! Please join us every Saturday in May for this 5-week class with Glenn Yamanoha, a painter, printmaker, and sensei who studied Mokuhanga on a Monbusho grant in Kyoto, Japan. This class is open to students of all ages, so seating is limited. Contact us to reserve your spot today!

In honor of Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders, Barnes & Noble is welcoming Richard Hamaski, a renowned local poet who contributed to The Gate of Memory, an anthology of poetry written entirely by descendants of incarecerated Japanese Americans. Richard will read a few poems from the book written by him and other poets.
The store will also feature a bookstore display during the month of May highlighting books related to Honouliuli and the Japanese incarceration experience in Hawaiʻi. Feel free to peruse their selection in person while visiting the store.
This workshop is designed for adults who have never been on a bicycle (or haven't been on one in many years– or decades!), and will get you rolling safely on two-wheels! You'll be paired with a bicycle fit specifically for you and get practice with a friendly instructor from Hawai‘i Bicycling League who will help you go from balancing to gliding, and from gliding to riding!
