The Malama the Caregiver Readings
The Malama the Caregiver Readings
Great News from PlayBuilders of Hawaiʻi Theater Company and TAG-The Actors' Group! Directed by Elizabeth Wichmann-Walczak and produced by Deanna Espinas, two special readings will take place at the Brad Powell Theatre/ Tag the Actors Group in November.
On Saturday November 2 at 7:30 pm, members of the original cast of "The Super Executive Aunties of the Malama the Caregivers" will gather to read the play for those who wish to hear it again or wish to experience it for the first time. This play was exceptionally well received last year and focused on real live caregiver experiences. Several of the cast members are actual caregivers or have been caregivers and a couple of them are sharing their own stories.
"This play is an antidote to despair! I hope the performers and PlayBuilders know how much impact their words and emotions can have on people who often feel as though they are traveling on this journey alone...The Super Executive Aunties and the Malama the Caregivers Collective will find many kindred souls searching for camaraderie, meaning, and understanding through reality-based performance art like this. Best wishes as you move this project forward in the weeks and months ahead."
