TALK STORY: Jonathan Reed
TALK STORY: Jonathan Reed
The Courtyard Marriott Oahu North Shore recently announced its upcoming schedule for its Talk Story & Makeke in the new year. The bi-monthly program will continue to celebrate the stories, talents, and traditions of our island community in 2026 with feature speakers. Free and open to the public, the events typically take place every second and fourth Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the hotel’s conference room (dates subject to change).
Join us for an evening dedicated to awareness and education on suicide prevention, mental health, intervention, and postvention. Jonathan Reed is a certified mental health and suicide prevention counselor. Along with his wife, Ellouise, he founded a nonprofit organization in honor of their son, Tautua, who tragically passed away by suicide. The organization’s mission is to educate individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and industries about mental health, with a focus on recognizing warning signs, expressing thoughts and concerns, and identifying solutions to help prevent serious health outcomes. Jonathan currently serves as a Business Agent and Executive Board Trustee for Hawaii Teamsters Local 996, where he shares this mission with employees across a wide range of organizations.
