Summer Reading Challenge Kick-off (For All Ages)

Summer Reading Challenge Kick-off (For All Ages)

Join us as we kick-off the 2023 Summer Reading Challenge!

This year we are celebrating Hawaii–our islands, environment, people, cultural heritage, literature, history, foods and arts.

The Hawaii State Library (Downtown Honolulu) will feature some exciting events: Hawaii Youth Opera Chorus, Children’s Storytime, La Sorellanza singers, Keiki hula performance, Book bag tie dyeing session, and Bokashi composting.

There will also be some fun activity stations with the Friends of the Library of Hawaii, Hawaii State Federal Credit Union, Oahu Plant Extinction Prevention Program, State Department of Agriculture’s Plan Quarantine Branch, State Department of Land and Natural Resources’ Forestry and Wildlife Division, and State Department of Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division.

Attendees who visit all of these activity stations and complete the Passport stamp card will receive a reward, while supplies last. Stamp cards will be available at the Summer Reading table in the main lobby and at all activity stations.

For more information, call (808) 586-3500 or go librarieshawaii.org/summerreading.
