Ocean Sounds: Nā leo o ka moana

Ocean Sounds: Nā leo o ka moana

The ocean is speaking! What does it say? Join Eliza Taylor, an underwater acoustics researcher from UH Mānoa, on an adventure to explore the amazing sounds of the ocean. What can sound teach us about whales, dolphins and the mysteries of the deep sea? How do scientists listen to the ocean? And is it possible to see sound? Through real
recordings and interactive activities, you’ll uncover a hidden
world of voices that exists beneath the surface. Come listen,
and discover what the ocean has to say!

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective
communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as
possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are
encouraged, but not required. All programs are subject to change. See a schedule of upcoming events at librarieshawaii.org/events.
