Mālama ‘Āina Community Clean Up and Environmental Fair
Enjoy a morning outdoors while keeping our environment clean! Join Our Kakaʻako, Waterfront Plaza, and Surfrider Foundation for a free community clean up in the nine mauka blocks of the Our Kaka‘ako neighborhood and Mother Waldron Park. Pre-register on the event webpage, www.ourkakaako.com/cleanup. We are limiting the number of volunteers to 200, with no walk-ins, so register today. Check in at The Barn at SALT at Our Kaka‘ako at 327 Keawe Street between 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. You will need to show your photo ID and proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. Bring your own water in a reusable bottle, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, and shades or protective eyewear. Please wear a mask and social distance. You’ll be given a map, gloves, and trash bag. After collecting trash and placing it at the designated trash drop-off location, return to The Barn by 11:00 a.m. for a mahalo grab n’ go snack bag. Plus, check out our Environmental Fair at The Barn where local environmental nonprofit organizations, including the Surfrider Foundation, will be sharing sustainability tips and educational resources as well as selling eco-friendly merchandise to support their missions. In addition, participate in the Our Kaka‘ako Kōkua Donation Drive at The Barn. Bring your boxes filled with donations of gently used clothes and household goods for Goodwill Hawaii or canned food for the Hawaii Foodbank on Saturday, Nov. 13, and Sunday, Nov. 14, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Plus, fill out our Holiday Dinner Giveaway entry form, and you’ll be entered for a chance to win a scrumptious holiday dinner for four valued at $200!
