Makana Waipa: Eat the Invasives

Makana Waipa: Eat the Invasives

MAKANA Waipā : Eat the Invasives, presented by Kona Brewing Hawaiʻi returns to the Garden Isle on September 24, 2022 to raise awareness of invasive species and funds for the Waipā Foundation. In its fourth iteration, MAKANA Waipā continues the tradition of gathering the greater community to celebrate the abundance of our ‘āina and learn about our wahi (place). We will host a silent auction to raise funds.

MAKANA Waipā is an ahupua‘a culinary journey celebrating the Waipā Foundation’s popular “Eat the Invasives' dinner series. Featured Chefs from O‘ahu and Kaua`i will gather with our team of practitioners, staff and volunteers, and the community, to celebrate the bounty of Waipā and eat the invasives found on Kaua`i and throughout Hawai`i.

This years featured chefs are:

Chef Mark Oyama – Mark’s Place

Chef Kristene “Bachan” Moon – Pig & The Lady / Piggy Smalls

Chef Michael Young – Timbers Kaua‘i

Chef Lee Anne Wong - Papaʻāina at Pioneer Inn
