Local Artists for Local Lifeguards

Local Artists for Local Lifeguards
The TOMA (Terrace of Modern Art) series will return on Saturday, May 27, from 6-10 p.m. entitled “Local Artists for Local Lifeguards.” The free outdoor art exhibition will take place at Waikiki Beachcomber by Outrigger on the poolside terrace adjacent to Hawaiian Aroma Caffe. Attendees are welcome to enjoy light pūpū, drinks and live music while supporting the work of local artists and North Shore Lifeguard Association (NSLA). The TOMA event series highlights a captivating collection by renowned and emerging artists. In this edition of TOMA, 15 local Hawai‘i artists will display a one-of-a-kind art piece specifically made for this event. These original art pieces will be glassed and laminated into custom-shaped surfboards by local shaper, “B Clem.” Each surfboard will be auctioned off and 100% of proceeds go to the NSLA Junior Lifeguard Program, which serves nearly 500 youth in the summer. In addition to this installation, four other local artists will be displaying their own unique style of live art on “Catch Surf” surfboards. Helping create the vibe, the live entertainment on stage for the evening will be featuring the Lucky Kidz.
