Kumu Kahua Theatre presents Who You Again? on stage at its iconic Merchant street location, running through April 24, 2022. Written by Ryan “Oki”naka and inspired by a personal journey, the story follows a family struggling to care for their matriarch as dementia slowly steals her memories away. Her grandson’s method of existing within—and adding to—the imaginative world she inhabits creates a special bond. Directed by Denny Hironaga, Who You Again? features a stellar cast including Kaipo Dudoit, Ron Encarnacion, Karen Kuioka Hironaga, Kati Kuroda, and Ben Walsh. Show dates and times are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. (no performance on Sunday, April 17). Local band ESD: Every Single Day is also playing a part in the community spirit around Who You Again?. Music from the band’s album is included in the play at no cost to production, and the band will perform live at 1:00 p.m. in front of the theatre just before the Sunday matinee performance on April 24.
