Jazz Maui Presents Sunset Jazz Featuring The Toby Couture Quartet
Jazz Maui presents Sunset Jazz featuring the Toby Couture Quartet from 5-7pm on Sunday, June 4, at the Maui Ku'ia Estate Chocolate Factory in Lahaina. In addition to keyboardist Toby Couture, the quartet includes bassist Ashton Yarbrough, drummer Paul Marchetti, and vocalist Pohai Mo'iha.
Keyboardist Toby Couture graduated cum laude from the Conservatory of Music SUNY Purchase College after studying jazz piano, classical guitar, percussion, and French language. Since moving to Maui over ten years ago, he has worked with many local musicians including Willie Nelson, Marty Dread, Guerilla Jazz and his own projects.
Ashton Yarbrough has been playing bass for 11 years. He started as a classical bassist in an orchestra but has played all kinds of music including jazz, musical theater, gospel, funk, rock , and mariachi.
Well known on Maui, Paul Marchetti studied drums and percussion in New York and has performed and recorded with artists such as Mick Fleetwood, Eric Marienthal, Water Becker and may more. He has appeared on national and local televisions shows and recorded and toured with an international list of artists.
Every Sunday Jazz Maui's Sunset Jazz concert series features a different line-up of world-class live jazz music accompanied by chocolate/ beverage pairings. Held in the upstairs open-air pavilion, concert goers can enjoy great jazz and sunset views and an extensive wine, spirits and beer list along with three flights of chocolate and beverage pairings for purchase. Chocolate Sommeliers are on hand to assist with pairings or imbibers can create their own.
Sunset Jazz concert attendees must be 21 or older and have a valid photo ID. Advance ticket purchase is required.
