Extension in the Garden: Locally Adapted Crops in Hawaii

Utilization of locally adapted varieties can be one of the best decisions you can make as a gardener in Hawaiʻi. Please join us for an afternoon of sharing and networking at the Urban Garden Center as we discuss gardening in the islands.

•Learn about edible crops CTAHR has tested and had success with across the islands;
•Take home plant samples with superior horticultural characteristics from UH field trialsand plants carefully selected from our gardens and research stations;
•Gain seed saving and plant propagation tips from CTAHR Extension Agents;
•Talk with CTAHR scientist about flowering plants which attract beneficial insects;
•Share ideas with 4-H Youth Development Extension Agents about healing garden projects forschool gardens;
•Network with university faculty, staff, Master Gardeners, volunteers, communitymembers, other gardeners from around the island;
