Dance Performance "Home... It's not where you think it is"
Contemporary dance artist Elizabeth Lentz-Hill collaborates with The Still and Moving Center to present “Home… It’s not where you think it is.” The performance includes five new contemporary dance and dance theatre pieces of, about, and for home. Before the show, audiences will enjoy homemade cookies and prompts about where home is for them, then see the hour-long performance in The Still and Moving Center’s beautiful Barefoot Ballroom. To incorporate diverse perspectives on “home,” the dances feature eleven performers ranging from professional dancers to community members with a passion for dance.
Lentz-Hill says, “When I lived on the continental United States, people would ask me where I was from and I would say, ‘I live in Chicago now, but the home of my heart is Hawaii.’ This show has lived in my heart since I moved back home in 2018. I’m thrilled to share the creative process with so many different dancers, and now to share it with audiences.”
The Still and Moving Center has partnered to provide a home for this creative process and final performances. Join us in this beautiful space to explore home… it might just surprise you.
