Chinatown Autumn Moon & Lantern Festival

Chinatown Autumn Moon & Lantern Festival

Come to Chinatown and celebrate the harvest moon like our Far Eastern neighbors have done for thousands of years! The MId-Autumn Festival, or Moon Festival, is one of the most celebrated holidays in China and other Asian countries. It's a time for family gatherings, special feast foods, lantern parades, moon-gazing and romance. Our community is honoring this centuries-old tradition with family-friendly activities in the park and lanterns displayed outside our shops and restaurants.

Keiki activities, including lantern-making and face-painting, start at Smith Beretania Park at 3:00 pm. In the early evening, you can stroll through Chinatown and see the lanterns on display from Maunakea Street to Nuuanu Avenue. Don't forget the mooncakes!
