2025 Annual Unthirsty Plant Sale at Hālawa Xeriscape Garden
An abundance of drought-resistant plants awaits plant lovers looking for just the right plant to brighten their lanai, adorn their yards, or dress up their windows. Presented by the Board of Water Supply, the 2025 Annual Unthirsty Plant Sale at Hālawa Xeriscape Garden, at 99-1268 Iwaena Street, on Saturday, August 2, from 9 am to 1 pm, promises to be an unthirsty plant paradise. Admission is free. Park on Iwaena Street and catch a free shuttle to the garden.
Meandering through a three-acre garden, a lush oasis nestled in Hālawa Valley’s Central Park and browsing through the tables and tables of unique plants that can thrive with little water is a fun, educational experience for the entire family. The endless array of reasonably priced plants may be purchased with major credit cards only. No cash or checks.
The Unthirsty Plant Sale will also showcase unthirsty plant experts, including a team of “plant doctors” who will offer plant care advice. There will be educational exhibits from community organizations that share the Board of Water Supply’s mission to ensure there is a supply of fresh water now and for future generations. Free soil conditioner will also be available.
Plant lovers that sign up for a Friends of Hālawa Xeriscape Garden (FOHXG) membership at the event can enjoy a 10 percent discount on plant purchases. FOHXG is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational programs that promote water conservation for landscapes.
