Jimmy Borges has spent a lifetime singing his way from Kalihi valley through many of the top venues in America, from San Francisco’s Hungry I to New York’s Latin Quarter, and many cities abroad as well.  HPR’sNoeTanigawa reports Borges saved up his favorite material for his just-released CD.

Jimmy Borges performs with the Hawai‘iPops, some of those original Sinatra arrangements, this coming Saturday .

Find the CD, “Jimmy Borges” at Mountain Apple Company.  Kudos to the musicians and arrangers:  Dan Del Negro, Matt Catingub, Stephen Jones, Betty Loo Taylor, Noel Okimoto, Steve Moretti, DeShannon Higa, and Zanuck Lindsey.

Connect with Jimmy on his Facebook page.

Jimmy Borges performs a Sinatra tribute with the Hawai‘i Pops November 28th at the Hilton Coral Ballroom.

On December 12, 1915, Francis Albert Sinatra was born in Hoboken, New Jersey. A hundred years later to the day, HPR celebrates the birthday of this iconic entertainer with a special broadcast from 3 - 6 pm of  Sinatra: The Man and the Music – 100th Birthday Edition.
For this 100th Birthday marathon, host and creator of HPR's long-running Sinatra program Guy Steele presents newly released recordings of the singer. Tune in to HPR-2, stream live, or listen wherever you are in the world via the station’s mobile app “Hawaii Public Radio.”

Noe Tanigawa covered art, culture and ideas for two decades at Hawaiʻi Public Radio.
