Lt. Gen. Russel Honore, commander of the 1st Army based at Fort Gillem, outside Atlanta, talks about relief efforts on the streets of New Orleans.

The native of the Louisiana town of Lakeland has been described as a "John Wayne" type and is credited with prodding Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.
