Hawaii Island Dengue Fever and CDC Update: Dr. Josh Green
The Dengue Fever outbreak that started earlier this fall now has a new total. As of the start of this week, the number of documented infections stands at 139 and most are local residents. The CDC says Hawaii’s Department of Health is doing a good job of coping with the spread of the disease. Hawaii Island Senator and physician Josh Green has continued to say that he’s not so sure. He’s been talking with the CDC and we asked him to share what he’s learned and if it’s different from what’s been publicized.

Hawai‘i GOP Reaction to Trump’s Rhetoric: Beth Fukumoto Chang
This week, Donald Trump’s incendiary remarks about his plan to block Muslims from entering the U.S. brought outrage from across the country and around the world. State House Minority Leader, Beth Fukumoto Chang is in Washington where she has been hearing a lot of that talk within and outside her party that mirrors what she has heard from some in Hawaii’s GOP. We asked her for an assessment of candidate Trump.

Fed Cup and Women’s Tennis: Lindsay Davenport
Lindsay Davenport knows what it takes to be at the top of your game. She spent a total of 98 weeks as the world’s number-one ranked women’s tennis player and rose to the top during a time of dramatic change, not only for women’s tennis, but for women’s athletics in general. The Wimbledon, US Open, and Australian Open winner is part of the team that’s bringing international team tennis to Hawaii this winter. They will be bringing the 2016 Fed Cup ‘s First Round between the United States and Poland to the Holua Tennis Center at Holua Resort at Mauna Loa Village in Kailua Kona on February 6th and 7th. Fed Cup is the world’s largest annual international team competition in women’s sport with approximately 100 nations taking part each year.
