Only a few days into 2015, three people lost their lives on Oahu's streets. Those were in addition to the first pedestrian fatality of the year on Kauai. Hawaii has long had a reputation for its dangerous streets, especially for the elderly. Mike Formby, Director of Transportation Services for the City and County of Honolulu, joined us in-studio to discuss the recent spate of pedestrian fatalities as well as pedestrian safety in general.

A quick trip down the street might soon mean you can leave your car behind and jump on a bike for hire. Bikesharing is already well established in several American cities and in countries around the world from France to China. Honolulu will join them if Ben Trevino has his way. He's the president of Bikeshare Hawaii and joined us in-studio.
