Kona Woman Gets Diabetic Alert Dog

The use of service dogs is becoming more prevalent. But it's not always obvious why somebody has a service dog. Now, a Big Island woman has a dog who uses his nose to help ensure she doesn't die from what's called an invisible disability. HPR's Sherry Bracken tells us more.

Hawaiian Electric urged Hawaiʻi Island customers to conserve energy last week to avoid rolling blackouts. The island has had an "extremely" tight supply of energy over the last few weeks after HECO's independent power producer Hamakua Energy Partners went offline.
