Due to emergency electrical repairs on the Likelike Highway, the state Department of Transportation will be temporarily reopening the Pali Highway this Sunday, April 14.
Crews with Hawaiian Electric will be conducting the repairs on Likelike Highway from 8 AM to 4 PM. The work will require all lanes of the highway to be closed.
To help alleviate congestion, the DOT will use the Kailua bound lanes of the Pali Highway for Honolulu-bound direction contraflow from 8 AM to 12 PM. And the Kailua/Kaneohe bound direction lanes will be open for the public from 12:15 to 4 PM.
State Transportation officials say the H-3 Freeway and Kalanianaole Highway are also viable alternatives to and from Windward Oahu.
