You’re probably familiar with the luxury high-rises going up in Honolulu’s Kaka‘ako neighborhood - but you may not know about the latest addition: an ice skating rink.

The Ward Entertainment complex plans to add an outdoor ice rink into the courtyard of the historic IBM building.  Admission to the 4,200 square-foot outdoor rink will be around fifteen dollars for 1.5 hours – and includes skate rental.

Todd Apo is the Vice President of Community Development from The Howard Hughes Corporation.

The new rink is expected to open just in time for the Black Friday holiday shopping rush - and will remain till early January.  More information can be found at: Ward Village Shops

Nick Yee’s passion for music developed at an early age, as he collected jazz and rock records pulled from dusty locations while growing up in both Southern California and Honolulu. In college he started DJing around Honolulu, playing Jazz and Bossa Nova sets at various lounges and clubs under the name dj mr.nick. He started to incorporate Downtempo, House and Breaks into his sets as his popularity grew, eventually getting DJ residences at different Chinatown locations. To this day, he is a fixture in the Honolulu underground club scene, where his live sets are famous for being able to link musical and cultural boundaries, starting mellow and building the audience into a frenzy while steering free of mainstream clichés.
