Last weekend the doors at Oahu Community Correctional Center in Kalihi remained closed, leaving prisoners unable to see their family and friends. It’s just the latest episode in an ongoing problem that’s plagued Hawaii facilities for years. Officials say there are too few corrections officers to oversee the visiting areas.
