Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Elvin Bishop is in Honolulu for dates tonight and tomorrow at the Blue Note with his Big Fun Trio. He took time to speak with HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence about his journey from a rural farm background in Oklahoma to internationally famous recording artist. He tells the story of how he turned a love of the blues, developed as a child listening to late-night radio in segregated America, into a career working alongside some of the greatest legends of the genre. It's a fascinating tale, and his over half-hour complete interview adds even more detail to his life story.
