John McLaughlin has a new album, Black Light, which we featured all week on All Things Considered. The gifted guitarist, who first made a name for himself in the sixties collaborating with Miles Davis and others, is equally well-known for his groundbreaking fusion bands Mahavishnu Orchestra and Shakti, as well as numerous projects through the years, including his latest, the Fourth Dimension Band. He spoke to HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence about the new album, his spiritual journey through life and some of the people who've shaped it.
