"Voices of Hawai‘i" Author Talk with Jane Marshall Goodsill

"Voices of Hawai‘i" Author Talk with Jane Marshall Goodsill

Join author Jane Marshall Goodsill as she shares some uplifting stories that capture Hawai‘i’s diversity, complexity, and humor. Her book Voices of Hawai‘i gives readers a chance to sit in on talk story sessions with local business executives, lawyers, war veterans, musicians, Hawaiian culture experts, Olympic medal winners and more. Jane was born and raised in Hawai‘i. In her career as a licensed professional counselor, she listened to thousands of hours of peoples’ stories. With this passion of “talking story” and a desire to know more about her father’s legal career after his passing in 2004—attorney Marshall Goodsill—Jane began collecting oral histories of individuals who were hired, mentored, trained, or worked with him. This free 45-minute Zoom event is suitable for ages 7+. Registration is required. To register, go to librarieshawaii.org/events
