TALK STORY: Aunty Kela

TALK STORY: Aunty Kela

The Courtyard Marriott Oahu North Shore recently announced its upcoming schedule for its Talk Story & Makeke in the new year. The bi-monthly program will continue to celebrate the stories, talents, and traditions of our island community in 2026 with feature speakers. Free and open to the public, the events typically take place every second and fourth Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the hotel’s conference room (dates subject to change).

Aunty Kela will lead a presentation of the history of Hula dancing in the Ko'olauloa area, from the time of the Hawaiian monarchy to the present. She will also acknowledge and recognize a few of the Kumu Hula's who are continuing to educate and teach this important part of Hawaiian culture.
